About Gayane
Gayane is the Armenian form of Gaiana, which itself originates from the Ancient Greek "Gaîa (γαῖα)." Gaîa was the goddess or personification of Earth in ancient Greek religion. She was one of the Greek primordial deities, known as the great mother of all the heavenly gods.
Through her union with Uranus (the sky), Gaîa gave birth to the Titans and the Giants. Her union with Pontus (the sea) resulted in the birth of the sea-gods. Gaîa's Roman counterpart was Tellus.
