Khryseis

This Ancient Greek name, derived from "khrūsós (χρῡσός) Khrysēís (Χρυσης)," holds the precious meaning of "golden, gold, something dear or precious." In Greek mythology, Khryseis was a Trojan woman, the daughter of Chryses, her name meaning "Chryses' daughter."

The name Cressida, often associated with Khryseis, originates from the Greek mythical figure Chryseis. In the epic tales of the Trojan War, Chryseis was a young woman whose original name was Astynome. Through the various adaptations of the legend throughout Medieval and Renaissance literature, she became known as Cressida, a character caught in a love triangle between the Trojan prince Troilus and the Greek warrior Diomedes.
